
Amy brings diverse experience in the areas of political fundraising and public policy to her position with The Ashmead Group. Throughout her career, Amy has worked closely with several members of Congress in both official and campaign capacities. Upon joining The Ashmead Group in 2006, Amy served as National Finance Director to Congressman Ted Strickland (D-OH) in his successful bid to become Governor of Ohio. In that capacity, Amy was responsible for all aspects of the national effort, helping to raise $16.2 million a record in Ohio state politics. Before joining Ashmead, she served as Director of Scheduling to U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA). Her tenure included the critical planning and rebuilding period for the Gulf Coast following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Additionally, Amy worked under former U.S. Senator Jon S. Corzine (D-NJ) and U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) as Southern Finance Co-Director and Deputy Director of the Board of Trustees program. In both positions at the DSCC, she worked alongside notable political and philanthropic donors to execute high-dollar events and fundraising efforts across the country, focusing on East Coast cities such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Orlando, Palm Beach and Miami.
Regarding her policy and legal experience, Amy served as Energy Legal Assistant for the Washington, D.C. office of Baker Botts, LLP. Her responsibilities included monitoring and analyzing both legislative and regulatory developments for many Fortune 500 companies in the energy and environmental sectors. She also served as a liaison between her department and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in conjunction with proceedings and application processes.
Amy graduated summa cum laude from Mercer University with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in Business Administration and English.
